Munro Tally: M83, T139

On our way north up the A9 for a few days at Loch Lochy Youth Hostel, the weather looked good, so we stopped to "pick off" this easy Munro. Followed the obvious path up its broad shoulder, and past the cairns which look like walkers leaning into the wind as you see them from the A9 below. Then it started to rain - gently at first, then more, and more, and more ..... Rarely have I felt so wet! We reached the cairn, then hurried back down the path which was now a running stream. Just as we reached the car, the rain stopped, and the sum came back out. Impeccable timing! The wonder is that Iain (aged 16) wasn't put off hillwalking for life!

Geal Charn (Drumochter)

Sometimes you question your own sanity! But its no more crazy than the folks we met at the bottom of the hill - also soaked - who had been out "counting grouse"!
