John's last Munro - which set me thinking about whether or not I could complete the set! Time will tell! We met up in the car park on the A87 below the Forcan ridge - about 25 of us. Followed the clear path up the hillside to the foot of the famous Forcan ridge. Then an exhilirating scramble up the knife edge sections, now surrounded by the low cloud. The trickiest bit was down a slippery gully into the gap betweeen Sgurr na Forcan and the main top itself. Soon we all reached the top, and celebrated with champagne, malt whisky and cheese pieces! Then on along the succession of minor tops to the west - Spidean Dhomhuill Bhris and Sgurr Leac nan Each. Beyond the last top, we dropped northwards into the valley, and walked out to Loch Duich. |

Forcan Ridge Part way up the Forcan Ridge, with the low cloud hiding the drops on either side. |
Summit Celebration John holds aloft his bottle of whisky - on his 284th Munro! |
